We’re looking to change the world, one dispatch center at a time. We know we can’t do it alone. There’s strength in numbers, and we’re looking to build a team of strong, bold, creative individuals who want to disrupt the industry as much as we do.

The RFact Industry Standards Committee guides RFact’s business activities, strategies, and approach by presenting new ideas, providing input and feedback, and keeping us informed of what’s happening in the world of 9-1-1. This opportunity is currently closed but will likely open again near the end of 2024.

What You’ll Do

As a Member, you’ll:

  • Keep us abreast of issues facing 9-1-1 today
  • Provide feedback on new things we want to try
  • Help us conduct surveys and research
  • Write blog posts, if you’re into that kind of thing
  • Propose the next great idea(s)

We want to do things that just aren’t done in dispatch centers today, and some of the ideas we come up with are game-changers. We need you to help us focus those ideas and make them great. Some of the ideas we come up with are absolute clunkers, or are too crazy to work in the current climate. We need you to be brave enough to tell us our ideas stink.

Why You’re Interested

You care about 9-1-1 and want to make it better, first and foremost. You embrace new ideas and a bold way of thinking, knowing that “we’ve always done it that way” is no longer an acceptable answer. You know that affecting change isn’t about talk, it’s about action. You like to get your hands dirty when it comes to something you’re passionate about. You’re creative. You have high standards. You’re not afraid to speak your mind. Maybe you’re looking to build your resume. Maybe you want to set yourself up for a career change. Maybe you want to develop new skills. Maybe you want to collaborate with like-minded professionals and build something great. We can help with all of those goals.

Who We Are

Kiel and JP founded RFact in 2017 with a simple goal: make 9-1-1 better for everyone, especially those on the front lines. Like most (or all) dispatch center managers and supervisors, we dealt with the same issues: insufficient staffing, bad tech, low morale, sometimes poor employee performance. After dealing with consultants that gave us generic answers that wouldn’t solve our issues, we decided there had to be a better way. We believe in questioning everything. We believe in being brave and taking chances. We know the same old problems don’t get solved with the same old solutions, and we are working hard to disrupt the industry. If that makes sense to you, we’d love to have you as part of the team.

If you’ve read this far, we thank you. We know we’re better collectively than we are as individuals, and building a team of energetic, conscientious, innovative teammates is very important to us. An important thing to realize with this opportunity is that it is unpaid (at least for now). We can offer you a great place to collaborate, some career development, and a definite feather in the cap. If there’s anything else non-monetary that can get you on board, please don’t hesitate to ask us. Because we’re asking you to volunteer your time, we don’t expect you to commit to anything more than a couple of hours a month. We’re certainly thrilled to have you do as much as you’d like, but your time is valuable, and we don’t want to keep you for any more than you see fit. Joining our team means you believe in what we’re doing, and that you embody the six adjectives we use to describe our company and ourselves: Dynamic. Experienced. Focused. Innovative. Honest. Fearless.
